How It Ships uploader · last updated 24 October 2026

The How It Ships uploader is a private application operated by Sean Simmons (Simmonet). It uses the YouTube API Services to upload and manage videos on a single YouTube channel, How It Ships, which the operator owns.

Who uses it

Only the channel owner signs in to the uploader. It is not available to the public and does not ask anyone else to grant access to their Google or YouTube account.

What it accesses

With the owner's consent, it uses the youtube.upload and youtube.force-ssl scopes to upload videos, captions and thumbnails and to manage those uploads on the How It Ships channel. It does not read, collect or store data about viewers or any other users.

How data is stored

The OAuth credentials that let the uploader act on the channel are stored encrypted in Microsoft Azure Key Vault and on the operator's own server. They are not shared with or sold to anyone. Video files and metadata are the operator's own content.

Revoking access

The channel owner can revoke the uploader's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking it stops all further access.

Google and YouTube

This application uses YouTube API Services. By using it you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
